Disc Feeder Overview

ZC series disc feeder is a kind of continuous and uniform feeding equipment used to deal with powdery, granular and small lump materials. It realizes the precise control of feeding quantity through the synergistic effect of rotating disc and fixed scraper, and has become the key feeding device in many industrial processes with the features of stable operation, flexible adjustment, and strong load-bearing.

The equipment is available in two models: open type is suitable for dry and loose materials; closed type is specially designed for materials with high sludge content, high moisture and strong viscosity, which can effectively prevent dust and wall sticking. It is widely used in mineral processing plants, smelters, cement plants, sand mines and mechanized foundries, and is usually installed under the hopper to feed materials evenly to the next process.


Working Principle of Disc Feeder

  1. Material accumulation: the bulk material enters into the receiving cylinder from the upper hopper and accumulates on the surface of the rotating disk along the cylinder wall by its own weight.

  2. Preliminary adjustment: By adjusting the gap between the sleeve and the disk, the natural stacking angle of the material on the disk surface can be controlled, thus initially affecting the amount of feed.

  3. Scraping and feeding: the disk rotates at a uniform speed driven by the driving device, and the materials piled up on the disk surface are blocked and scraped away from the disk by the fixed discharging scraper, and fall into the receiving hopper below.

  4. Precise control: By adjusting the gap between the discharge scraper and the disc or changing the rotating speed of the disc, precise and flexible control of the feeding quantity can be realized.

Driving path: motor → belt pulley → worm reducer → disk rotation.
